After the first Lockdown was lifted I couldn't wait to photograph people again (socially distanced of course!) and had a head full of ideas. I was filled with inspiration and excitement and really wanted to take my portrait work to the next level by incorporating props and unconventional concepts. And for some reason, filling a forest up with balloons seemed like a great idea. The forest is my favourite place, and I wanted to reflect the way it makes me feel (and others I hope!) via bright colours and balloons felt like a great option to convey that feeling. They're not only colourful, but free and not so easily tamed and that's how I feel whilst walking around the forest.
Anyway I put a model call out with potential ideas and was introduced to Meena. I think we can all agree 2020 was an awful year although having the opportunity to meet beautiful people (both inside and out) like Meena and so many other people (too many to list!) definitely made up for it. If you have the chance to shoot with her you're in for a treat!- She's literally one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting!
All photos were taken in Bury, Greater Manchester.
P.s I will be adding some more photos to the post at a later date!
